During last week’s tease of spring weather, kindergarten students and their teachers from EJR took a walk over to the Pine Bush High School food pantry. They had been talking about the pantry and how it serves the community, so they decided to visit and see it firsthand.

Each student had a cereal box to donate! They were greeted at the pantry by Katie Carson-Decker and Wendy Crandall, social worker and school counselor at Pine Bush High School, along with some student volunteers.

Ms. Carson-Decker showed them where everything is in the pantry, and the students put their cereal boxes on the designated shelf. They were great helpers! The high school volunteers gave them big fist bumps before they left for their walk back to EJR.

The kindergarten students were so happy to make their donations, help out and see the pantry in person! Great job, EJR! It’s never too early for generosity and kindness.
