Guest readers bring the joy of reading to PAK, EJR

March 2 was Read Across America Day, part of Read Across America Week, an initiative of the National Education Association to encourage reading and literacy in our children.

Pakanasink and EJR elementary schools invited guest readers to read to students in their classrooms. Board of Education President Gretchen Meier, Vice President Kristi Kheiralla, Superintendent Joe Lenz, Assistant Superintendent Rachel Adelstein, and Assistant Superintendent Brian Weir readily accepted the invitations! And the students loved having them!

After reading, kids asked questions of their guests, about their jobs and what they do. It was a great interaction for all.

BTW, March 2 is the birthday of Theodor Seuss Geisel, also known as Dr. Seuss, the famed children’s author and cartoonist. He dedicated his career to children’s literacy.
