Hooray for 100 days!

Friday, Feb. 13 was our 100th day of school here in the Pine Bush Central School District! Woo hoo!

Three young elementary students hold up their coloring sheets celebrating 100 days of school.

Our younger students in the elementary schools celebrated by dressing like 100-year-old people, which is always a highlight of the day. It also included lots of 100-centric educational activities. Like sorting and stringing candies and cereal, stacking cups and Jenga blocks, counting objects, putting together 100-piece puzzles, creating hats with 100 dots on them, and so much more.

A young elementary girl smiles as she strings 100 pink beads.

At PBE, the first and second grade hallways are filled with activity while the students participate in different activities in each classroom. They learned how many pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters make a dollar. They used 50 marshmallows and 50 toothpicks to see what they can make. They put dots on strips of paper, cut them out and created wacky hats with 100 dots. They did puzzles with 100 pieces and strung 100 beads! Most importantly, they acknowledged that they are 100 days brighter!

Two younger elementary boys smile while wearing silly hats that have strips of paper in different colors hanging over their heads. Each strip of paper has 10 dots on it.

Great job to all! There are just 80 schools days left in our school year. My how time flies!

Younger elementary boys stack large red cups.
