Touchscreen Chromebooks are available; set up your appointment to get one

Dear Pine Bush parents,

Our backorder for touchscreen Chromebooks has arrived!  So Pine Bush CSD is now able to make touchscreen Chromebooks available to students in the Pine Bush School District. Many of our families borrowed Chromebooks last spring, but those did not have touch screens.  Now we want to give parents the opportunity to replace those with touchscreen models, and we want to make sure any child without a Chromebook gets one.

We will be distributing Chromebooks four days next week:

  • Monday, Sept. 21, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 4 to 6 p.m.
  • Tuesday, Sept. 22, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Wednesday, Sept. 23, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
  • Thursday, Sept. 24, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Parents will need to sign up for a pick-up time at either Pine Bush High School or Circleville Middle School using the following website:  https://pickatime.com/PineBushCentralSchoolDistrict.

A Chromebook agreement will need to be signed by a parent for each student that they are borrowing a Chromebook for. A copy of this agreement is here in English and in Spanish, and can be found on the district’s website here. Parents can sign the form before they come to pick up a Chromebook or blank forms will be available when they come to pick up a Chromebook. We suggest that parents bring a pen with them if they have not signed the agreement before coming to the distribution. The district will fill in the Chromebook information on the agreement.

You will note in the Chromebook agreement that there is a fine structure in case the Chromebook is damaged during the time you have borrowed it.  You also will have the option to purchase insurance for the Chromebook, that will cover the costs of repair as an alternative.  Once you get your district-issued Chromebook, you will either need to purchase the insurance or tell us you have opted out of that option.

We hope that this second wave of Chromebook distributions gets all of our students with their own unique device so that each of them can fully participate in the virtual learning currently underway.

Next week our pre-k students will return to the buildings for hybrid instruction and two weeks later hybrid instruction will begin for grades K-6.  We are still working on the hybrid plans for grade 7-12.

Have a great night,

Tim O. Mains, Pine Bush Superintendent
