Town of Wallkill American Legion Post #1181 Scholarship:

Applicant must be directly related to a U.S. veteran of one of the five branches of the U.S. Armed Forces and enrolled full time at a college or university.  Essay and Veterans Certification form must be submitted with application.

American Society of Civil Engineers Mohawk-Hudson Section Scholarship:

Offered to a graduating senior seeking to continue their education with the goal of becoming a practicing civil engineer.

Award Amount: $1,000/year

Orange County Human Rights 2019 Scholarship:

Student must be a graduating senior residing in Orange County planning on pursuing a post secondary education.  Applicant should display mutual respect and understanding among all groups and initiate and/or participate in programs that foster human rights awareness.

Daniel E. Carey Memorial Scholarship:

Awarded to a community-minded student known for reaching out and helping those in need.  Student should have demonstrated community service and a love for the outdoors and the environment.  Financial need is also required.

Wallkill East Rotary Club Scholarship Program:

Applicant must be a Town of Wallkill resident pursuing their education in the healthcare field.  Student must have demonstrated leadership, initiative, service to school and community, and have a minimum GPA of 2.0.  Student must be pursuing an associates or bachelors degree, or a certificate from Orange-Ulster BOCES or other vocational technical school.

Award Amount: $3,000

Central Orange County Italian American Association Scholarship 2019:

Student must be of at least 25% Italian heritage and demonstrate academic achievement, community/volunteer service, and financial need.

2019 Center for Prayer and Meditation Scholarship:

Student must be a graduating senior and continuing their education at a two- or four- year college or university.  Preference given to children of employees of Middletown Medical or children of veterans.

Middletown Business & Professional Women’s Club:

Awarded to female high school graduates planning on furthering their education in any area of study.  Essay, financial need, scholastic achievement, and school/community involvement are required.

Orange County Municipal Planning Federation Annual Scholarship:

Awarded to a high school senior who is a resident of Orange County and is planning on pursuing a full-time degree in one of the following areas: geography, urban design and/or landscape architecture, architecture, cartography/geographic information systems, civil engineering and/or surveying, environmental studies/sciences, public administration, or a related field.

Sebastian Avilan Medina Scholarship:

Awarded to a student who is pursuing a career in auto mechanics.  This student must show exceptional drive, passion, and motivation to excel in auto mechanics.  A strong moral and ethical standing takes precedence over grades.  Leadership in the community and willingness to help others also required.

Hudson Valley School Food Service Association Elvalee Woodside Memorial Scholarship:

Applicant must be a graduating senior planning on attending a 2 or 4-year college, technical school, or a one year program (not BOCES).  Student must be preparing for a career in the food industry.  Areas of interest may include food preparation, hotel management, school food service, institutional food service or dietetics, etc.  Motivation, good character, and financial need are also required.

Hudson Valley School Food Service Directors Steven E. Pinelli Memorial Scholarship:

Awarded to an individual who is planning on attending a 2 or 4 year college, technical school, or a one year program (not BOCES) intending on preparing for a career in food service.  Areas of interest may include food preparation, hotel management, school food service, institutional food service or dietetics, etc.  Motivation, good character, and financial need are also required.

Presented to a senior who attended Crispell Middle School and is planning on majoring in environmental science or a related field.

Alice Tirado Memorial Scholarship:

Awarded to a student whose life has been affected in some way by Lou Gehrig’s Disease (ALS).  Student must have a GPA of 85 or above and participate in volunteer activities.

Jacob E. Gunther, III Memorial Criminal Justice Scholarship:

Awarded to two graduating high school seniors from the new 100th Assembly District.  Academic achievement, community service, financial need and acceptance to an accredited college or university to pursue a degree in Criminal Justice are required.

Offered to a graduating senior planning on continuing his/her education in a fiber art or fine art field.  Applicant must have completed at least one course in sewing, textiles, design, and/or art during high school.

Applicant must be a graduating senior who is a Town of Crawford resident and is planning on attending college as a full-time student.  Integrity and an interest in civic engagement are also required.

Awarded to one female and one male student with a grade point average of 90 or better who volunteers to help others.  Student must have attended Crispell Middle School.

Catherine Abate Memorial BKAA Scholarship:

Student must be a graduating senior. An essay (250-500 words) highlighting a local environmental problem and ways of mitigating or eliminating it is required.

The Mary Abdoo Fashion Memorial Scholarship:

Applicant must be an Orange County resident who will be pursuing a career in fashion at Marist College in the fall of 2019. Strong academic performance and financial need also considered.

American Medical Technologists:

Presented to a senior pursuing a career in one of the following disciplines: medical technologist, medical assistant, medical administrative specialist, dental assistant, medical laboratory technician, phlebotomy technician, medical laboratory assistant.

Student must reside in Ulster County and have an equine or agricultural background.

The Carla B. Aumick 11th Annual Pine Bush High School Art Scholarship:

Applicant must intend on pursuing a career in the fine arts and have a grade point average of 80 or better. A 500-word essay is required explaining how the student expresses his/her feelings and thoughts through their works of art. Photos of two or more pieces of artwork must be submitted with the application. Submissions may be in any format including paintings, sculptures, or any artwork developed through one’s hand-crafted ability. No graphic art or computer generated work will be accepted.

James Carl Baisley Memorial Scholarship:

Awarded to an ambitious senior interested in the field of computer science. Student must demonstrate a concern and commitment to helping others. No GPA requirement.

Ian Bennett/Situation Cares Memorial Scholarship:

Presented to a student of Orange County who plans on furthering his/her education. Student must submit three examples of art in the form of design, music, and/or performing arts. Essay required. Creativity is encouraged.

Awarded to a graduating high school senior who has a passion for playing the drums. Student must be enrolled full time at an accredited college or university.

Billings Memorial Engineering/Technology Award:

Offered to an outstanding student in technology and physics who plans on pursuing a degree in engineering.

Michelle Renee Bratton Memorial Scholarship:

Applicant must be a female Pine Bush High School graduating senior who will be attending a four-year SUNY college or university.  Preference given to a member of the National Honor Society.  Preference also given to a student who is either an athlete on the women’s swimming and diving team or a member of the chorus.

Gerard J. Buckenmeyer FASNY – Firemen’s Association of the State of New York:

Applicant must be a member in good standing with the FASNY or be the child of a member. Student should be planning on attending an accredited two- or four-year institution of higher learning, serve as a current junior firefighter, Explorer or RAM in a group affiliated with a volunteer department, or volunteer with an EMS unit.

David T. Cocks Walden Savings Bank Scholarship:

Awarded to a graduating senior who demonstrates good character, potential for success, academic achievement, participation in school activities, and community service.  Primary consideration given to students who have completed an Eagle Scout Project.  Secondary consideration given to recipients of the OCIAA Scholar Athlete Award, MHAL Scholar Athlete Award, or the equivalent named scholar athlete award in their school district.

Country Quilters’ Guild Scholarship:

Presented to a student continuing his/her education in any field of study at a trade school or college.

Cosimo DiBrizzi Culinary Arts Scholarship:

Student must be pursuing a career at the Culinary Institute of America and must be a resident of the Hudson Valley for at least 5 years (Columbia, Dutchess, Greene, Orange, Putnam, Ulster counties).  Student must have strong academics, demonstrated interest in the culinary arts, and financial need.

Award Amount: $1,500-$3,000

 Presented to a student who has displayed athletic and academic excellence.

Doherty-Package Pavement Company Scholarship:

Applicant’s parent/guardian must be an employee of the Package Pavement Company, Inc., Red Wing Properties, Inc., or Stormville Trucking, Inc. for at least five years.  Demonstrated ability to succeed in college, financial need, and involvement in volunteer activities or employment are also required.

Award Amount: $500-$3,000

Awarded to a student who attended Crispell Middle School, plans on furthering his/her education in college, and exhibits financial need.

Edward J. Russell Elementary School Scholarship:

Student must be an Edward J. Russell Elementary School graduate who has participated in extracurricular  activities at Pine Bush High School and plans to pursue a career in education or health-related field.

Offered to one male and one female student athlete who demonstrate financial need, athletic achievement, and will be continuing their education in college.

Hudson Valley Guns and Hoses Scholarship:

Applicant must be a volunteer firefighter or the immediate relative of a paid or volunteer firefighter or law enforcement officer.  Student must be enrolled full time in a Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, or Ulster County college, university, or vocational school and plan on majoring in criminal justice, fire science, public administration, or related fields.

Ladies Auxiliary of the Bloomingburg Fire Company Scholarship:

Student must be a resident of the Bloomingburg Fire District or the child of an active Bloomingburg firefighter or Auxiliary member. Commitment to community service that is 15 hours above and beyond volunteer hours required by school curriculum or activities is also required.

Mamakating First Aid Squad – Betty Keil & Elsa Greenwald Memorial Scholarship Fund:

Awarded to graduating seniors with strong scholastic standing, citizenship, leadership, potential, and school spirit.  Applicant must reside in the Town of Mamakating and plan to pursue a career in the medical field.

Al Romm Interdisciplinary Journalism Scholarship:

Applicant must be a graduating senior fluent in one other language (besides English).  Student must have a “B” average or better in higher level math classes, involved with the high school newspaper or yearbook or have a published journalistic byline/article in a printed publication, and have a current 3.5 GPA at the time of graduation.  Student must be enrolled at an accredited university that offers a journalism degree and enrolled in college classes to obtain basic knowledge of history, statistics, and political science.  Student must be pursuing a degree in journalism.  Preference may be given to students enrolling at the University of Massachusetts (UMass) Amherst, or Columbia University. Presented to a student who shows kindness, integrity, and respect toward all people and animals. Applicant must have attended Crispell Middle School.

Award Amount: $750

Isadore and Ethel Wittenberg Memorial Scholarship:

Awarded to a graduating Pine Bush High School student athlete who demonstrates civic duty and responsibility on and off the athletic field.

 Award Amount: $200

Applicant must be a graduating senior who resides in the Town of Mamakating and will be pursuing higher education.  Consideration given to community involvement, academic achievement, and pursuit of small business aspirations.

Daniel Yanosh Science Scholarship:

Student must be enrolled in college and pursuing an education in civil technologies surveying curriculum.

Kathleen H. Zwissler Memorial Scholarship:

Applicant must be an employee or have a parent or guardian employed by Adams Fairacre Farms, Inc. and have a B average or better.  Recommendations from an employer and teacher are required.

Award Amount: $1,000
