PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES

The Board will encourage administrators to keep informed of current educational theory and practice by study, by visiting other school systems, by attendance at educational conferences, and by such other means as are appropriate.

The approval of the Superintendent will be required for any conference attendance or visitations requested by administrators.

Participation will be limited by available resources and reimbursement guidelines.

General Municipal Law Sections 77-b and 77-c

COMPENSATION AND RELATED BENEFITS

The salaries and related benefits of administrators will be set annually by the Board upon the recommendation of the Superintendent and/or will be in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement/contract currently in effect.

It will be the intent and policy of the Board that:

a) Prior to April 1 of each year, and upon evaluation of performance and discussion with the Superintendent, the Board will establish by resolution the salary for the Superintendent for the subsequent year;
b) Prior to May 1 of each year, upon evaluation of performance, discussion with the Assistant Superintendents of Schools, and the recommendation of the Superintendent, the Board will establish by resolution the salary for each Assistant Superintendent for the subsequent year.

Further, it is the intent of the Board that the salaries to be established annually for the above-named positions be determined independent of any other existing contracts or agreements with individuals, groups, or organizations, and that the salary levels to be set accurately reflect the contribution and value of the position and performance to the District, to the best ability of, and in the best judgment of, the Board.
